From 2002 till 2007 I studied Biology at the University of Antwerp. During my last year I made my master thesis about effects of the pesticide Roundup to aquatic organisms communities in natural watercourses. This was executed at the EBT lab. Since then I became interested in ecology and environmental pollution, so I decided to start a PhD thesis at the EBT lab in March 2008. In the next years I was investigating the importance of spatial organisation to minimize the exposure of contaminated soil with metals for young children. In 2009 the project was ended and the results were published on the website www.BERISP.org.
Now a day my research is in broad outline on the same subject as my acquaintanceship to ecotoxicological science. Since 2009 I'm working on a project funded by the FWO. My responsibility in this project is to investigate the behavioural response of damselfly larvae captured in small ponds and there biomarkers response in relation to accumulated micro pollutants.- Selected presentations
