Curriculum Vitae

From 2003 till 2007 I studied Biology at the University of Antwerp. During my last year I made my master thesis about Responses of aquatic organisms to metal pollution in natural watercourses: A Comparison between diatoms and macroinvertebrates. This was partly executed at the EBT lab and partly at the National Botanic Garden of Belgium. Since then I became interested in ecology and environmental pollution, so I decided to start a PhD thesis at the EBT lab in October 2007. In the next 4 years I will be investigating the role of sediment characteristics in metal bioavailability and effects on the macroinvertebrate community. I also will be partly responsible for the ECOMAMA project.
