I am from Mumbai, India. I did my schooling at Queen Mary School and then went to UK for further studies. After completing my International Baccalaureate exams, I got a place at the University of Warwick. I graduated in July 2004 with a BSc in Mathematics and Business Studies. However, I realised after my undergraduate studies that Mathematics alone wasn’t the subject for me and so decided to venture further. I then grabbed the opportunity to do an MSc in Mathematical Biology and Biophysical Chemistry which I found very interesting and challenging. I graduated from my masters course in July 2006. During my masters project in molecular biology I was sure that this was what I was looking for! That brought me here, to the Laboratory of Ecophysiology, Biochemistry and Toxicology. Jigsaw puzzles have always fascinated me and found me occupied in my spare time. I have taken the same approach to unravel the mystery of aptamers and pollution. I am enrolled as a PhD student here at the University of Antwerp since October 2007 and ever since then I am trying to put the pieces together to get the real picture!
