After graduating in Biology (Physiology) at the University of Antwerp (UA) in 2000, I started my professional career at the laboratory for Ecophysiology, Biochemistry and Toxicology research group as a PhD student in October 2000. This research focusses on the investigation of the effects of neuro-endocrine pharmaceuticals in zebrafish (Danio rerio), using a toxicogenomics approach. The first year of my research was funded by the IWT, after which I recieved a 4 year grand of the FWO-Flanders.
In my spare time, I like doing sports. My favorites are sailing, wintersports and swimming. I love animals. Ideal to pass time for me is to go for walks with my dog (although, with his respectable age of 11 years he is getting a bit too old for the ‘real work’). I also like reading and art, and I even ‘try’ to draw and paint myself from time to time.
